Foundation – Grade 6 Enrolment/Transfer
To start primary school your child must turn five years of age, or older, by 30 April of the year that they will start school.
We require the following documentation with your enrolment form please:
- Proof of birth – certificate must be sighted
- Immunisation schedule
- Proof of residency in the zone – we need to view an original rate notice or water bill, if renting, a copy of a rental agreement and a utilities bill.
Foundation 2026
The Department of Education (DE) has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Wimba Primary School.

School Zone
The 2025 and 2026 school zones are available at
Our school has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). Approved entry criteria for our school for the 2026 school year are:
- students who live within the school zone
- students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
- students seeking enrolment on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.
All students seeking enrolment at our school must meet one of the above criteria to be eligible for enrolment in 2026.
The department will review this enrolment restriction yearly and provide updated advice as necessary for the subsequent school year.
